We all stay away from bids of some agencies or consulting
engineers because of the aggravation factor experienced on previous jobs. A
perfect example is a town which shares its border with Montgomery Township in
Somerset County, NJ. Even when work is scarce and most owners
receive in excess of ten bids on their projects, this town hardly ever gets more
then three bids and sometimes none. Jobs in this particular Town consistently
receive bids which are about 25% over the going rate. A real bargain for the
taxpayers.
